01/14/11 - 06:59 AM IMPORTANT MESSAGE -- This past two weeks we have had a lot of unforecasted snow. This snow did not even show up on radar. This is normal for us in the winter. If the forecast indicates partly cloudy or fog, chances are, we are having snow showers. These snow showers can produce significant snow. We refer to this as Pittsburg Partly Cloudy, 2 to 4 inches. I am not sure what causes it. I am looking into it.

10/21/08 - MAJOR INTERNET PROBLEM!!! My service provider (Hughes Net) is improving the service it provides to its customers. As a result of this improvement I have no Outlook email, FTP or access to secure services. I have found out that this problem has spread across the US. The weather station is working fine and I am collecting data. The problem is that I can’t update the webpage. NEVER USE HUGHESNET unless they are the only game in town. The NWS forecast is working fine on the webpage along with most of the radar pages; I can’t send my local information to the webpage. I hope Hughes will resolve this problem soon. I will switch to WildBlue if the problem is not quickly resolved.

10/21/08 - MAJOR INTERNET PROBLEM!!! My service provider (Hughes Net) is improving the service it provides to its customers. As a result of this improvement I have no Outlook email, FTP or access to secure services. I have found out that this problem has spread across the US. The weather station is working fine and I am collecting data. The problem is that I can’t update the webpage. NEVER USE HUGHESNET unless they are the only game in town. The NWS forecast is working fine on the webpage along with most of the radar pages; I can’t send my local information to the webpage. I hope Hughes will resolve this problem soon. I will switch to WildBlue if the problem is not quickly resolved.

05/01/2008 - New Davis Vantage Pro2 Plus weather station is now in operation. The major enhancement is the UV and Solar Radiation Sensors. The UV and Solar readings on this site are now aquired from this station.

One new feature is the Style Options on the left side of the Home Page. You can personalize the color theme and also select narrow or wide screen.
